6th Annual Farm Meets Fork Gala

Connecting the fork to the farm, Dairy Promotion Committee aims to share information with local business owners, workers, and patrons – letting them know what dairymen and women do every day to help ensure that Wisconsin dairy products continue to be produced with the highest quality ingredients and animal care, which genuinely starts at the farm.

August 24th, the committee gathered area business and community leaders who work indirectly with the dairy industry daily. The event was hosted at Deer Run Dairy of Kewaunee County, starting with hor’s d’ oeuvres and refreshments. During the social hour, owners, Dale Bogart and Duane Ducat, offered tours of the farm to the guests. Once the tours concluded, Millaine Wells of WFRV rang the dinner bell, and an elegant dinner was served.

Executive Chef, Aaron Morse, from Black & Tan Grille presented and elegant dinner which included lobster bisque, a delicious fruit and vegetable salad, perfectly seasoned finger potatoes, a medley of fresh beans, followed by a lush, crusted Prime Rib. After the dinner keynote speaker, Jennifer Van Os of UW-Madison shared her presentation: Giving Cows a Voice Through Science. The evening concluded with a milk toast, frozen drinks, and a view of the milking parlor for those interested.

Thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees that made this evening possible. Special thanks to our community FFA & 4 H members who parked cars and served dinner.
